Shawn Wright, LCSW

Shawn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience providing clinical care to young, middle and older adults and families. His approach focuses on different evidenced-based therapies working with a variety of issues. He has 20 years’ experience assisting people cope with grief and loss and with chronic and long-term illnesses. He utilizes aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Self-Compassion, Mindfulness and Meditation and the Strengths Perspective as therapeutic interventions to aid his clients in the discovery of their best self. Shawn believes in starting where the client is and from there building a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. He recognizes the courage and bravery it takes for one to “show up and do the work” to become one’s authentic self. Shawn is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and understands the challenges accompanied with sexuality and gender identity. 

Shawn received his bachelor’s degree at Belmont University. He holds a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. 

Shawn and his dog, Patton, live in Nashville. He has a variety of interests such as going to the ballet, theater, having popcorn and a coke at the movies, creating the perfect playlist for any occasion or spending time with family and friends. He loves to laugh and has been known to enjoy a good Tik Tok.
