Dana W. Hipp, M.D.

Dr. Dana W. Hipp is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and treats patients with a variety of needs including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, conduct disorder, and a specific interest in treating PTSD. She believes in incorporating variety of therapeutic modalities into treatment with a goal of treating the whole person.

Dr. Hipp grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Vanderbilt University for college where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. During that time, she did research in childhood depression and autism spectrum disorder, and emotional dysregulation in children with comorbid medical conditions. She went on to complete training for her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. After graduation, she moved to Houston, TX where she completed her psychiatric residency and fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center. Before moving back to Nashville, she worked as an attending at the UT Sickle Cell Clinic working with children and adults with comorbid sickle cell disease and mental health needs.

Dr. Hipp is trained in evidence-based practices for the treatment of emotional and behavioral concerns commonly experienced in childhood and adolescence, such as anxiety, depression, trauma and conduct problems. She enjoys working with patients and their families on education, treatments and lifestyle improvements.

Dr. Hipp lives in Nashville with her husband and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, sewing, and volunteering.
