Focused Autism
Evaluations

Several of our Green Hills Family Psych clinicians have advanced training and expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders. Given the high need for early diagnosis and effectiveness of early intervention for children with autism, Green Hills Family Psych is now offering Focused Autism Evaluations utilizing the ADOS-2 for ages 2-18.

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale, Second Edition (ADOS-2) is a semi-structured, standardized assessment instrument that includes a number of play-based activities designed to obtain information in the areas of communication, reciprocal social interactions, and restricted and repetitive behaviors associated with a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is currently viewed as the “gold standard” observational assessment for the diagnosis of ASD.

Focused Autism Evaluations include an interview with a parent or caregiver, review of outside records, the use of age-appropriate standardized screening tools and developmental testing (as needed), and administration of the ADOS-2.

The evaluation process involves three steps: an initial consultation appointment (parents only), a testing appointment, and a feedback session (generally parents only).

Allison Griffin provides Focused Autism Evaluations to children and adolescents ages 2-18.

Dr. Rebekah Travis conducts autism evaluations across the lifespan, including for adults.

If interested in a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation with autism testing included, Dr. Katie Herrington and Dr. Rebekah Travis provide this service.
